Introducing Solar Urticaria
Screen mini-film series production
Solar Urticaria is a five-part dark comedy, set in Scotland and written by Annie Cook. A parkourist postman with a hero complex develops an unlikely alliance with a chronically ill woman - who he insensibly believes is a vampire - to take down a local suspected criminal.

Crowdfunding will help us kickstart the pilot and cover the costs of the production. The pilot episode film 'Solar Urticaria - Chapter 1 Patman's Obsession' will be screened locally in Edinburgh and published in 2022. We aim to highlight chronic illness and local support available. Any monetary profit or proceeds beyond the budget will go directly to charity for supporting people living with chronic illness which is close to the heart of this project. If you would like to get involved directly in this project please contact with Annie.

Support our production
Crowdfunding will begin in May
To produce this pilot film production we are looking to gather a total budget of £3,500 and if we're very lucky and work hard a sexier stretch budget of £4,200 which will help with distribution costs and colour grading. This budget will ensure we have quality sound equipment, props, costume, pay production crew a fee appropriate for the quality of work they produce and each cast member a fee for their time. The creative industries are tough and we want to create opportunities for people but also ensure people get at least paid for their time. We also want to highlight chronic illness and use this to promote local support available.
